Winyo Closes the IESE Founders' Forum 2025 in Barcelona
Winyo's music has taken him to some unexpected stages - and in June 2025, it took him to a business school in Barcelona.
The Kenyan Afro-acoustic artist appeared as a closing speaker at the IESE Founders' Forum, the annual gathering hosted by IESE Business School, which brought together over 200 scale-up founders from more than 50 countries to explore sustainable scaling and intentional business growth.
In conversation with Ester Martinez, Entrepreneur in Residence at IESE, Winyo reflected on weaving tradition and modernity in his music, the far-from-straightforward journey to success, and what it means to grow into who you are. Themes from a life in music, it turns out, that speak just as directly to a room full of entrepreneurial founders.
He then closed the Forum the best way he knows how: with a live concert in the gardens of the IESE campus, bringing his blend of Benga, Afro jazz and blues to the Barcelona evening.
