“With a career marked by innovation and authenticity, Adannay continues to break barriers and captivate audiences.”
ADANNAY makes music to soundtrack the revolution.
Born and raised in South London, British-Caribbean ADANNAY (she/they) is more than an artist—she is an agitator, a poet, an activist. Her music is a rallying cry for queer Black joy, resistance, and liberation, a space where radical politics meet raw emotion. With a a voice that demands to be heard, she crafts songs that blur the line between music, protest, and manifesto.
Layering Caribbean folk, gospel, alt-R&B, and spoken word, Adannay’s sound is as rich and complex as the movements that inspire her. Drawing from the spirit of artists like Kojey Radical, Janelle Monae and XX, she fuses groove and grit, softness and defiance, offering anthems that are both deeply personal and unapologetically political.
Named “a powerful and distinctive young voice on the music scene” (ROTATE), her latest EP, Home Is Where You Make It, earned praise from EARMILK, Colors Studio, Reprezent Radio, DIVA, and BBC Introducing, landed her on Spotify’s Fresh Finds UK & IE playlist, and amassed over a million views on Instagram.
But Adannay’s music doesn’t just live online—it lives on the frontlines. Her immersive live shows mix music, spoken word, and conversation, creating communal spaces where music meets activism. Often joined by poets and organisers, she transforms the stage into a site of protest, healing, and collective action. She has performed at Cross The Tracks, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, 110 Above, Live At Heart and Jazz Re:freshed’s residency, sold out Brixton House Theatre, recently supported R&B legend Leela James on the UK leg of her sold-out European tour, and taken her music across borders with a mini tour of Sweden and France in 2024.
For Adannay, music is not just art—it’s action. With every lyric, every stage she steps onto, and every movement she amplifies, she is building a soundscape of resistance—one that demands to be felt, heard, and acted upon.
