Bucket of Rice…

Flew from Shanghai to Beijing.    For second morning in a row, in two separate Chinese cities, I ordered my breakfast, including 3 Diet Cokes and a bucket of ice (I know, I know it is disgusting… get over it).  And for the second morning in a row, in two separate Chinese cities, I received 3 Diet Cokes and a BUCKET OF RICE.

I have images of the hotel in Shanghai calling ahead to Beijing warning them:  “We don’t understand why, but there’s going to be this big fat American bloke arriving and he’ll be asking for a bucket of rice at 5:30AM. Be ready.”

A bucket of rice is a lot of rice.   And it warms the diet coke rather than cools it.   But you mix the two together and it is a bit like Congee.   But there’s a lot to get through.
