11.02.13 Quick Report Back from Sao Paolo

Written by

As some of you know, this weekend we launched the global tour of 71 Hours to Monday, the Abubilla song celebrating the weekend.   First stop in our mission was the streets of Sao Paolo to give the song a good foundation of Samba Percussion.  We met Caverno at the drum shop and arranged for him to bring his team of 16 drummers to a local bar in his community.  We then set up our mobile recording studio and recorded about two hours of percussion.    More blogs, videos and new versions of songs to follow over coming months, but to whet your appetite, here are early photos.

Mike will follow up with more details on the trip; but in meantime enjoy 16 Brazilian Samba players jamming to 71 Hours to Monday.

  1. [...] We’ve made the first purchase of the mobile recording equipment we’ll be using during the tour of the villages.  As I write this, it’s already in use – Jimmy is visiting Meninos de Morumbi, the project we are supporting in Brazil, and has recorded Samba percussion of the streets of Sao Paulo for the new, global version of the Abubilla song, 71 Hours to Monday.  Check our Jimmy’s blog on their progress here: Quick report from Sao Paulo [...]
